Student Education and Management Work

The stomatology specialty is a national-level characteristic specialty. The school officially started enrolling five-year-long undergraduate students majoring in stomatology in the fall of 1979, and received a comprehensive rating of Class A (internationally first - class) in the comprehensive evaluation of undergraduate majors in Yunnan provincial colleges and universities in 2024. In the past five years, the acceptance rate for the first - choice applicants of the stomatology specialty has been 100%, and the average admission score has continuously exceeded the first batch admission score line by 90 points. As of April 2025, there are a total of 579 undergraduate students in the School of Stomatology, including 6 students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and 1 international student. In 2024, the placement rate of undergraduate graduates reached 89.15%, and the further education rate in 2025 was 55.86%.

Our school has continuously implemented the “Six Plans” for improving the quality of student work in the new era, focusing on cultivating high-quality stomatological talents in the school (hospital). We pay attention to enhancing the innovation and entrepreneurship thinking as well as the scientific research ability and quality of undergraduate students. In the past five years, students have won 1 gold award, 2 silver awards and 1 bronze award in the China International College Students’ Innovation Competition (CICSIC), 1 silver award in the “Challenge Cup” College Students’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and other awards. They have published 13 papers, including 2 SCI papers. At the same time, the school actively broadens students’ international horizons and encourages students to participate in exchange and study programs in countries such as Canada, Japan and Thailand.
